Hi there lovely, welcome to my shop!
ABOUT
I’m Pauline Maccay (she/her), a Filipina American artist and designer based in the Bay Area, CA. I create bold, lightweight statement jewelry that celebrates self-expression, diversity, and community. My love for earrings and accessories and the struggle to find designs that truly resonated with me led me to start my own jewelry line. Each piece is inspired by the people in my life who have encouraged me to keep creating, and I hope my work inspires others to embrace their most confident selves.
I earned my BA in Art Practice from UC Berkeley, focusing on sculpture and installation, but my passion for clay sculpture started in high school. I’ve been working with clay ever since, and polymer clay, in particular, allows me to create large, eye-catching designs without the weight of traditional materials. My goal is to make statement jewelry that feels as good as it looks comfortable, expressive, and uniquely you.
Growing up, I didn’t see many Filipinx American artists and designers in the industry, and I want to help change that. Through my work, I aim to increase representation while building a brand that celebrates the beauty of the people who wear my pieces. I also believe in giving back, which is why a portion of every purchase supports local nonprofits in need.
I hope my creations help you find the perfect statement piece that truly represents you, bold, confident, and unapologetically authentic.
I begin by mixing together various types of polymer clay to create a sturdy base. Then I add various pigments together to make a desired color before I cut them into shape. From there, I bake the batch until it becomes sturdy yet bendable. Once cooled, the clay goes through a process of sanding, buffing, coating, and drilling before adding brass or pressed plant accents. There are also certain pairs of earrings I paint specific designs over and apply gold flakes and a resin finish.
Violá, a statement piece is created!
Since these are created by hand and at home it may include some beautiful imperfections.
The Process
Jewelry Care
Polymer clay is durable and bendy. However, sharp objects may scratch the surface so it is best to store it in its own jewelry compartment. To clean polymer clay jewelry, wipe it off with a piece of soft fabric. Rubbing alcohol can be applied to wipe away stains such as make up. To maintain the pressed plant accents it’s best to store the piece in a shaded area. Brass can tarnish overtime when exposed to humidity, but can be easily cleaned with a mixture lemon and baking soda.
