Welcome to Handmade by Pmaccay where every piece tells a story. I hope you find something here that resonates with your spirit.
✦ Meet the Maker
Hi, I’m Pauline Maccay (she/her)
I’m a Filipina American artist and designer based in the Bay Area.
I’ve always loved bold, expressive earrings, but I could never find ones that truly felt like me. So I started sculpting my own: playful pieces that reflect personality, memory, and meaning. What began as a creative outlet has grown into a deeper mission, to tell stories through adornment and help others feel seen, powerful, and connected to themselves.
Thoughtfully Made, Start to Finish
Each piece is handcrafted using polymer clay, brass, florals, pearls, and found treasures. I sculpt, sand, and assemble every element by hand to create designs that are bold yet lightweight-comfortable for everyday wear, and unforgettable in every detail.
Some pieces are inspired by heritage and cultural memory, others by food, fashion, or simple joy. No matter the spark, every piece is made with intention and care.
Rooted in Family
My work is grounded in the love and support of my family. My parents and my aunt my three pillars have poured everything into building stability and opportunity for me and my brother. Their strength lives in every piece I make.
You might even see my brother helping out at local markets. Handmade by Pmaccay is built on family love, effort, and heart.
I’m also endlessly grateful for the friends and loved ones who cheer me on, offer honest feedback, and remind me to keep going. This isn’t just my journey it’s a collective one, made possible by the people who believe in me.
More Than Jewelry: A Soul Practice
Right now, I’m in the process of going deeper. I don’t want to just make cute or quirky things (though I love that too). I want each piece to become a kind of soul-guide: something that reminds you of who you are, what you love, and what you’re here to become.
This journey is personal. I’m still learning how to do that for myself, how to design from a place that feels honest and alive. Thanks for being part of this chapter with me.
A Legacy in Bloom
I didn’t grow up seeing many Filipino/a/x American artists in this space. That’s why I created this brand, to change the narrative, uplift our stories, and help others feel seen, powerful, and proud of their roots.
A portion of every sale goes to local nonprofits because giving back is part of the story too.
You deserve to wear something that feels like you, familiar, powerful, and full of personality.
I hope these pieces help you do just that.
The Process
I start by mixing different types of polymer clay to get the right texture and base. Then I blend pigments by hand to create just the right color before cutting each piece into its shape. After that, the clay is baked until it’s strong but still flexible.
Once it cools, each piece goes through sanding, buffing, coating, and drilling. I’ll often add brass details, pressed plants, or found treasures—little things that spark joy or carry a story. Some pieces get hand-painted designs, a touch of gold leaf, and a glossy resin finish to seal it all in.
And just like that a bold, wearable little work of art is born.
Because everything is handmade in my home studio, you might notice a few tiny quirks or marks along the way. I like to think of them as proof that each piece is one of a kind, just like you!
Jewelry Care Tips
Polymer clay is lightweight, durable, and slightly flexible—but it’s still best to treat your pieces with care. Sharp objects can scratch the surface, so try to store your jewelry in its own pouch or compartment.
To clean your polymer clay pieces, gently wipe them with a soft cloth. For tougher marks like makeup stains, a little rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab usually does the trick.
If your piece includes pressed plants, store it in a shaded area to help preserve the natural details.
Brass elements may tarnish over time, especially in humid environments. You can easily shine them back up using a bit of lemon juice mixed with baking soda—just rinse and dry thoroughly after.
With a little love, your jewelry will stay looking beautiful for years to come.
